If humanity is going to expand beyond Earth, we have to get the foundations right. Torchlight convenes the minds—from genomic scientists to institutional leaders—tasked with solving the biological and political hurdles of space settlement.
Our focus is on the "architectures of durability." Whether it’s human biological limitations, leveraging AI-native systems, or defining the rights of a non-terrestrial citizen, we explore the friction between technology and freedom.
This isn't a victory lap for the space industry; it’s a rigorous look at the conditions required for us to last.

Summit Founders and Directors
The Torchlight Summit was founded and is directed by Eliah Overbey to advance the biological, intelligence, and political foundations of human life beyond Earth. The summit serves as a working forum for topics in astronaut genomics, AI-native infrastructure, and extraterrestrial governance.
Torchlight is guided in collaboration with Co-Directors, including Christopher Mason, whose leadership in spaceflight omics and translational genomics helps shape the summit’s scientific agenda and research integration.
Together, the leadership team convenes astronauts, biologists, physicians, engineers, philosophers, and institutional builders committed to developing the architecture of freedom in our looming space age.
